I made my home in your bones, leaving fingerprints against the calcium deposits next to your heart, and planted kisses on your lungs as you breathe in the scents of summer sadness. Sometimes the sounds of rain rouse me from this cage of mine, but tomorrow screams solitude, and I’d much rather keep myself locked in your chest, tucked beneath your ribs, and cradled next to your heart.

Our bodies collided somewhere between morning coffee and afternoon classes, collapsing to the floor in a heap of limbs and books, taking the breath from my lungs. Blushing, she collected herself, her books, and excused herself to a classroom crowded with half sleeping teenagers, wishing for the comfort of their beds and a lover’s arms. The bell sounds in the distance, but my heart is beating for the feeling of her body resting against mine once more.

We’re up all night, spinning webs of tales that we wish were true stories, our bones stinging with the cold, and the tears slowly falling down her cheeks and glistening in the starlight. The candle burns brightly in the darkness, her eyes following the flame as it burns the oxygen that sifts around it. Humming a lullaby, arms wrapped too tightly around herself. Her demons are hers alone tonight.

I spent so long staring into the mirror, into my reflection’s two am eyes, purple bags hanging under them like luggage. I spent too long watching minutes pass slowly by on a clock that’s always been two minutes slow. I spent two weeks away from my words, even though I knew their absence would do more harm than good. I spent too little time with friends and family, and frankly, I am finally okay with solitude and silence.

I know the girl in the mirror, all doe-eyed and curious, eyes full of wonder. All it took was a few years and a barrage of hateful teenagers to change the look of this reflection. Now those eyes are lifeless orbs that harbor every horrible word that was ever lashed out at her, and her skin, pale and lacking proper nourishment from much needed sunlight, is home to scratches and scars; some self-inflicted, and some verbally left to fester. One day, she will be herself once more, but for tonight, she just hopes ice and tequila will make her feel better.

My name is Megan.
I'm 19 years old and I aspire to be a published author someday.
I write poetry, short fiction and fanfiction. I'm also working on a fiction novel that I'd like to get published in the future.

I listen to all music except for hip-hop and rap. Music is always attached to me, and I'm always listening to it no matter what I'm doing.

I have a colorful music background. I played the flute in band from fifth grade up to the second semester of my seventh grade year, then I switched to the baritone saxophone and played that until my tenth grade year. I then sang in choir from the second semester of my tenth grade year up until graduation this year. I'm very proud of my musical background and would like to expand that background in college.

Okay, so if anyone is a member of FanFiction.net, and you follow the Naruto fandom, then you've probably stumbled upon my story Our Desires. If you've noticed that my updates have been coming later and later, it's because my plot bunny isn't up to the challenge of writing that story anymore. What I'd like is for someone to kinda help me out, a Beta if you would, that can help me finish up a few more chapters. Right now, I'm currently writing chapter seven, which is Tsunade and Jiraiya's wedding day, and my bunny has nearly died trying to keep this story going. Anyone wanna collaborate on a story? I'd like to challenge myself and write with someone, but it's a little difficult with my work schedule, that's why I'm looking for a long term thing. If anything, I'll take ideas and write something for someone who would rather not write it themselves. At this point, I'll take anything to get rid of my Writer's Block. That's about it for tonight.

Work, work, work.

Hey everyone, it's been a while. So, anyways, with this journal I thought I'd just give a quick update on what's going down. 1) I finally got a job. I work for McDonald's now. It's a pretty cool job and has decent hours, but the pay could be a little better. I dunno, minimum wage is a difficult thing when you're saving up for a car. 2) I'm set to start college for the spring term. Not too bad, but it also keeps me from earning an education that could go towards my career in writing. Staying out of school moves me that much further away from my AFA in Creative Writing with emphasis on fiction novelization. 3) I have a job interview with Ba
